I do remember you all and loved the songs you sang. I know Mike from Hugo. Mildred "McKie Alexander Nye.
Very, very sorry to hear about the loss of Norman Ezell. We at Blitz Magazine have been long time supporters of the music of the Five Americans. In fact, the band's late 1965 I See The Light single was picked by Blitz in 2001 as one of the one hundred best singles of the twentieth century. You are in our prayers... Very, very sorry to hear about the Five Americans' most recent loss. The good Professor Ezell was always a major inspiration to all of us at Blitz Magazine. In fact, in 2001, the band's late 1965 I See The Light single was selected by Blitz as one of the one hundred best singles of the twentieth century. You remain in our prayers. Just a note to say that sadly Norman Ezell, life long friend and bandmate passed from this world on May 8, 2010. He will be missed. Mike Rabon
always a fan, Charlie Glaves
I love these guys. I am a screenwriter. Every time I watch THAT THING YOU DO (Tom Hanks) I remember what was happening to Durell and the guys. I was 14 or 15 when they played a skate rink in Abilene, Texas. Later at the big auditorium a ACU. They were great. The untimate garage band, made good. When they played the scating rink, all of the guys were very nice to us. We were just little kids at the time. Some of that same gang have gone on to big things in the music business. We all loved the 5 Americans. Tom Grisham Abilene, Texas

Great to see that you guys still have your passion for your music. I still remember you guys from our days at SEOSC. darrell lawless
I loved their music and was so proud two of the singers was from my homrtown, Hugo.
To The Five Americans , GLAD TO HEAR YOU'RE PLAYING AGAIN , THOUGH I GUESS I WAS A LITTLE SLOW IN GETTING THAT MEMO. NOT MANY BANDS COULD HANDLE RAW R'N'B - ORIENTED MATERIAL AND THE POP SOUNDS OF THE DAY EQUALLY WELL , BUT YOU DID , AND ADDED SOMETHING OF YOUR OWN. THE FIVE AMERICANS REMAIN A SEVERELY UNDERRATED BAND , BUT , IT DOES'NT HAVE TO BE THAT WAY , ALWAYS. John Battles , Chicago.
I first heard you guys back in '66 or '67 in San Antonio at a private party. Will never forget your version of G L O R I A. It was a super night! Geob_SATX
Mike, I feel like I've truly touched rock-n-roll greatness by meeting you via the internet and phone. Your music was important to me growing up. Rock-n-roll was hard to come by in Poteau, OK in the early and mid 1960's. AM radio at night was my best source. Thanks for keeping the great music alive for generations to come. Joe Harwell, Broken Arrow, OK
I entered Hugo High School about the time Mike Rabon was headed to college, so I spent my high school days idolizing The Five Americans. Mike, thanks for signing my album "Progressions" by the Five Americans and keep up that rock n roll spirit. Tony Leslie, Kilgore, Texas
It's 11 years now since we met in Fayetteville, NC, during the concert weekend at Howard Plaza and Cumberland County Arena. We (The Dakotas, Phil and me) had a great stay. They will always be remembered. Cheers Lasse
I've been a fan of The Five Americans since 1966. A friend of mine brought over a 45 rpm record of "I See The Light". We gave it a spin, and when I heard that driving beat and the soulful vocals, I was hooked! Then when "Western Union" came out, I bought that 45 record right away....and I still have it in my collection today. This summer I had the pleasure of meeting Mike Rabon, John Durrill, and Kye Rabon at the Ronnie Kaye bash in OKC. It was great to hear those guys play. The Five Americans' music still sounds as fresh today, as it did when I was a kid in the mid-1960's. John Hamilton.
really love your music. Was really cool to meet you. Always, Dave White
